Ceylon is the tea area on the island state Sri Lanka. Since 1972 it is called by the new name. However the tea is traded under the name Ceylon. Ceylon teas are aromatic and harsh-spicy teas but not that strong like Assam teas. The three best cultivation areas are Dimbula in the west, Nuwara Eliya in the center of the island and at last Uva in the east. Because of the special climatic conditions it is possible to harvest the whole year. |
